革の表情を引き出す、シザーケース製作の要「漉き割り機」のご紹介

Introducing the "Skiving Machine," essential for bringing out the best in leather when crafting scissor cases.

At BLINK SCISSORS CASE, we meticulously craft each scissor case using our own in-house equipment.

Today, I'd like to introduce you to one of our indispensable "beloved machines" in the production process.

The Charm of Leather Lies in its "Thickness Expression"

I personally believe that the greatest appeal of leather products lies in the "thickness" of the leather.

It's not just about being thick; only when the thickness is optimally adjusted for each product does it become beautifully and functionally crafted.

For example, if all parts have the same thickness, the product can appear expressionless and monotonous.
Conversely, by cleverly varying parts that retain significant thickness and parts that are finished sleekly, the three-dimensionality and shading unique to leather products emerge.

This might be a sensibility similar to hair design.

The "Skiving Machine" that Freely Controls Leather Thickness

Skiving Machine | A large machine that freely adjusts leather thickness

This imposing machine in the BLINK SCISSORS CASE atelier is a specialized piece of equipment called a "skiving machine." It weighs over 500kg.

Inside, a band-knife is installed, and as leather passes through, it rotates and slices it thinly.

Precision to Adjust Thickness in 0.1mm Increments

What's amazing about this skiving machine is its ability to adjust the leather thickness in 0.1mm increments.

We carefully assess each piece of leather and adjust it to the optimal thickness, depending on the part and design being used.

A Partner-Like Presence that Brings Out the Expression of Leather

Every BLINK SCISSORS CASE scissor case begins with the careful adjustment of leather thickness using this machine.

It is an indispensable and reliable presence in our production.

Moving forward, we will continue to meticulously craft each scissor case with this machine by our side.
